Shoigu accuses West of seeking to divide Russia

Russian Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoigu has stated that the West’s goal is the loss of Russia’s sovereignty, seeking to divide the homeland “into dozens of small state entities” to exploit them for “their own selfish interests.” He noted that the “collective West” misunderstands the spiritual strength and unity of Russia’s multinational people, which allows the country to resist “destructive geopolitical technologies.” Shoigu added that Russia is facing aggressive external pressure and “powerful anti-Russian propaganda,” and that its enemies mistakenly believe Russia’s multinationality is a weak point they are attempting to exploit to divide the country and the CIS.
