The Cabinet of Ministers has outlined how Kazakhstan’s new Constitution will be explained

According to the government, the document aims to organise a systematic effort to explain the Constitution’s key provisions, improve citizens’ legal literacy, and implement legislative measures arising from the provisions of the Constitution.

The plan provides for 36 measures across three areas:

  • organisational measures,
  • information and awareness-raising activities,
  • legal support for the implementation of the Constitution.

In particular, the text of the new Constitution will be adapted for people with disabilities and made available on online platforms.

In addition, measures are planned for scientific and expert support, visual communication, the production of thematic materials, and the implementation of exhibition and educational projects.

“Attention is being paid to fostering a culture of law-abiding citizenship and raising the level of legal literacy among the population. The plan includes the organisation of training seminars and educational events, the updating of school and university curricula, and the development of training courses on ‘Fundamentals of the Constitution’ and ‘Law and Order’, as well as teaching materials and children’s publications,” the Cabinet noted.

Separate measures are provided for to ensure the legal implementation of the Constitution, including the implementation of legislative measures, the analysis of existing legislation, and the updating of strategies and concepts in line with the provisions of the Basic Law.
