Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has given instructions to ensure maximum energy independence for the country. This was announced by Bekhdot Narmatov, head of the Project Office for Accelerating Reforms in the Oil and Gas Sector of the Presidential Administration.
On March 10, the head of state was briefed on the progress of the tasks set in the oil and gas industry.
Narmatov noted that since the beginning of the year, Uzbekneftegaz has opened two new fields and signed a number of contracts to expand production.
In addition, the company presented the president with a report on the work planned for the rest of the year and measures for its timely implementation.
According to him, the volume of seismic exploration work is planned to be significantly increased this year.
“The volume of seismic exploration work planned for this year will increase from 6,500 to 9,700 linear kilometers, and for this purpose, all necessary contracts have been concluded and appropriate conditions have been created by the oil and gas industry,” he said.
The meeting also discussed the activities of private and foreign companies operating in the industry.
