The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has approved a new structure for his administration.
According to Report, this was announced by his press secretary, Sherzod Asadov, on social media.
According to him, Mirziyoyev signed a decree ‘On measures to improve the efficiency, proactivity and effectiveness of the public administration system.’
The decree approved the new structure of the Uzbek president’s administration. As a result, 284 staff positions have been cut in the administration and its organisations, and duplicate positions have been optimised.
According to the document, five priority areas have been identified in the administration’s activities: education, business environment, judicial and legal system, healthcare and water resources. To effectively implement reforms in these areas, five deputy head positions have been introduced in the administration’s structure.
Positions of presidential representatives have been established in certain areas. The Agency for Information and Mass Communications has also been abolished, and a Centre for the Production of National Content is being formed on its basis.
