President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev will visit Uzbekistan, which will host the summit ‘Central Asia – EU’. This is reported by the press service of the Kazakh leader ‘Aqorda’ in its Telegram-channel.
‘In Samarkand, the President of Kazakhstan will take part in the meeting of the summit ‘Central Asia – European Union’, as well as hold a number of meetings,’ – reported in the press service of the President of Kazakhstan. It is noted that Tokayev is visiting Uzbekistan at the invitation of the republic’s leader Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The first summit ‘Central Asia – EU’ will be held in Uzbekistan from 3 to 4 April. It will be attended by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and the leaders of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan.Earlier, Kasym-Jomart Tokayev met with European Union (EU) Commissioner for International Cooperation Josef Sikela. Then the President of Kazakhstan added that Astana prioritises cooperation with the EU. This is about foreign economic and investment co-operation.
