US President Donald Trump has called on South Korea to join the US ‘Freedom’ mission in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to Report, he posted this on his Truth Social account.

Trump noted that Iranian forces had fired upon vessels from countries not involved in the conflict between the US, Israel and Iran, including at least one South Korean merchant ship.

“Perhaps it is time for South Korea to join the mission! We have sunk seven small boats, or as they like to call them, ‘fast’ boats. That is all they have left. Apart from the South Korean vessel, there are currently no other ships that have been damaged whilst passing through the (Strait of Hormuz – ed.) strait,” the post reads.

He also announced a press conference on the matter, to be held tomorrow morning by the Minister of War, Pete Hegset, and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Dan Kane.
