Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius in Kyiv.

According to Report, Zelenskyy announced this on his Telegram channel.

He thanked Germany for the assistance it has provided since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine: “Over €28.6 billion has been provided during this time. This is a significant boost to our defence.”

According to him, the parties discussed the development of joint defence production. “We can already count on six projects. There is also a proposal from Ukraine to work with Germany under the Drone Deal framework. We hope to be able to implement this. We value our agreements on strengthening Ukraine’s air defence, which were signed in April. This is important for protecting our energy infrastructure. Europe must be self-sufficient in defending itself against any threats, especially ballistic ones. We discussed how we can move in this direction,” Zelenskyy wrote.

According to him, particular attention was paid to the diplomatic process for achieving peace in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and Europe’s role in it. “Much depends on Europe, both in the peace settlement process and in the reconstruction of our country,” the Ukrainian leader emphasised.
