UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced on Thursday that an agreement has been reached between the UK and the United States to reduce tariffs on a range of products. The agreement comes in response to Washington’s recent “reciprocal tariffs”. Speaking at a press conference, Prime Minister Starmer said that under the agreement, tariffs on UK steel and aluminum exports to the US will be fully eliminated. In addition, the 27.5% tariff on up to 100,000 British-made vehicles per year will be reduced to 10%. In return, the UK will grant tariff exemptions on imports of up to 13,000 metric tons of US beef and remove duties on American ethanol.
