Ukraine and Lithuania have signed a drone agreement

The Presidents of Ukraine and Lithuania, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Gitanas Nausėda, have signed an agreement on defence cooperation under the Drone Deal framework.

According to Report, Zelenskyy announced this on social media.

“During the meeting with Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda, the main focus was on defence cooperation, and an agreement was reached on cooperation under the Drone Deal framework: this is a bilateral agreement between our countries,” he wrote, adding that the deal is aimed at strengthening the defence capabilities of both countries.

“A Ukrainian team of military experts will work in Lithuania to build the necessary defence capabilities, primarily to protect against modern threats and strengthen the security of our states and the entire region. We face common challenges, and we must overcome them together,” Zelenskyy emphasised.

He noted that the parties value mutual support and intend to develop defence cooperation capable of effectively responding to modern challenges and threats. The importance of Lithuania’s support for Ukraine’s course towards European integration was also highlighted.
