The US Pacific Fleet announced that a helicopter and a fighter jet crashed in two separate incidents in the South China Sea. On October 26, an MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter operating from the USS Nimitz crashed, followed shortly by the crash of an F/A-18F Super Hornet fighter jet. The crews of both aircraft were successfully rescued and are reported to be in safe and stable condition. An investigation into the incidents is underway.
