The US Trade Representative (USTR) announced a three-month extension of certain Section 301 tariff exclusions on Chinese goods until November 29, 2025. Chinese experts stressed that while the move is vital for US businesses and supply chains, broader exemptions and pragmatic adjustments are needed to stabilize trade ties. Analysts noted that Washington’s aggressive tariffs have harmed both sides, disrupted global supply chains, and damaged US industries.

China’s Ministry of Commerce confirmed that Vice Commerce Minister Li Chenggang will lead a trade delegation to Washington after visiting Canada. The talks will build on consensus from recent dialogues in Geneva, London, and Stockholm, focusing on long-term cooperation priorities.

Chinese officials and experts reiterated that China advocates mutual benefit and “win-win” cooperation but will firmly safeguard its sovereignty and security. Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu said China is ready for peaceful coexistence with the US but warned that attempts to pressure or contain China will fail.
