ANKASAM President Prof. Dr. Mehmet Seyfettin Erol stated that new regional and global realities are forcing all actors—particularly in the Middle East—to adopt a more realistic approach. He emphasized that the era of the Greater Middle East Project and the Greater Israel Project has hit a dead end in Syria. According to Erol, the United States appears to have initiated a new policy that prioritizes its own interests rather than acting through Israel. Instead of pursuing unrealistic ambitions that lack regional legitimacy and could place it in confrontation with regional states—especially Türkiye—the U.S. has opted for a strategy based on historical, geographical, and conjunctural realities. He underlined that Türkiye’s determined and patient policy will continue to yield results.
