Cenk Tamer, Senior Researcher at the Ankara Crisis and Policy Research Centre (ANKASAM), stated in his opinion piece for the Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC) that Azerbaijan has historically served as a bridge between East and West, and that this role has been further strengthened under current geopolitical conditions. According to Tamer, the country’s strategic geographical position not only provides a transit advantage but also generates a multidimensional capacity in the fields of energy, trade and diplomacy.

It is emphasised that, in the current climate of increased global power competition, Azerbaijan maintains its relations with both regional and global actors thanks to its balanced and multifaceted foreign policy approach. In this context, it is stated that Baku is positioned as a strategic actor that contributes to regional stability and creates connections along the East-West axis through cooperation mechanisms based on mutual interests.
