Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will pay an official visit to China from July 12 to 18 at the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Qiang. The visit was announced by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning at a regular press conference on Tuesday.
Spokesperson Mao noted that relations between China and Australia have been developing steadily as the two countries enter the second decade of their comprehensive strategic partnership. “Under the guidance of the leaders of the two countries and with the joint efforts of both sides, China-Australia relations are continuously improving,” Mao said, adding that the visit could open a new chapter in bilateral relations. Mao stated that China views this visit as an opportunity and is ready to strengthen communication with Australia, enhance mutual trust, expand concrete cooperation, and advance the comprehensive strategic partnership.
