Batyr Annaev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, received Gismet Gezalov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Turkmenistan.
The parties noted the importance of high-level political dialogue and mutual visits between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan for the development of bilateral relations, emphasising that, thanks to the political will of the leaders of both countries, cooperation has reached a strategic level.
The meeting discussed the current situation and prospects for cooperation between our countries in the fields of transport, transit, logistics, digital development and telecommunications.
It was noted that the favourable geographical location of the two countries and the growing transit potential in the region create significant opportunities for the expansion of transport corridors.
Furthermore, within the framework of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission, new opportunities were explored in the areas of digital development, the improvement of telecommunications infrastructure, and the strengthening of transport, logistics and transit links. Furthermore, mutual interest was expressed in further expanding the strategic partnership and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, particularly in the context of practical cooperation in the aforementioned areas.
