Azerbaijan and Pakistan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen economic relations and investment cooperation between the two countries. The agreement envisages investments in Pakistan.
Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov announced the development on the social media platform X. In his post, Jabbarov said, “Within the framework of the 17th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization held in Hankendi, we signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Pakistan Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif that envisages investments in Pakistan.” The document was signed by Mikayil Cabbarov on behalf of Azerbaijan and by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar on behalf of Pakistan. Cabbarov said in his statement, “This document will serve to further strengthen mutually beneficial economic relations and investment partnerships in line with the instructions of the leaders of the two countries.” The Memorandum of Understanding aims to further deepen the strategic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan in the economic sphere.
