Azerbaijan and East Kazakhstan Region plan to expand cooperation in trade, tourism, industry, and agriculture. During his visit to the region, Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Alim Bayel, met with Governor Nuryumbet Saktaganov. Bayel noted that Kazakhstan supplied 85% of Azerbaijan’s wheat imports this year and proposed exporting sunflower oil, establishing a sunflower processing plant, and introducing East Kazakhstan honey to Azerbaijani supermarkets. Saktaganov highlighted the region’s mining potential and health tourism opportunities. Both sides agreed to work on concrete joint projects.
