President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a one-on-one meeting. The two leaders discussed strengthening bilateral relations, the inauguration ceremony of the Igdir-Nakhchivan natural gas pipeline and opportunities for regional cooperation.
During the meeting, the issues of deepening the strategic partnership between the two countries and increasing cooperation in economic, political, military and cultural fields were discussed. Regional and international developments were also discussed. President Aliyev stated that the relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey are getting stronger day by day and emphasized that the joint projects of the two countries make significant contributions to regional stability and development. President Erdoğan, on his part, emphasized that Turkey attaches great importance to its strategic cooperation with Azerbaijan and that this cooperation will further expand in the future. The two leaders also discussed new cooperation opportunities in areas such as energy, transportation, defense and tourism. Azerbaijan and Turkey’s joint investment projects and infrastructure works were also among the issues discussed during the meeting.
