Britain’s return to the European Union (EU) is one option for reshaping the UK’s long-term relationship with Europe.
According to Report, UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham made this statement in an interview with the BBC.
He said that the current Brexit deal had done “more harm than good”, and that he wanted to explore “what is possible” to rebuild relations. The UK government is also considering a return to the Single Market.
Burnham noted that he does not want to leave the issue of UK-EU relations “in limbo”, but aims to “clearly set out where Britain is heading over the next decade”.
Yesterday, in his speech at the Labour Party conference, he promised to explore the possibility of closer ties with the bloc at a postponed summit to be held later this year.
