China temporarily suspended some export controls on dual-use items (critical minerals like gallium and germanium) to the United States (US), in a move reflecting its commitment to safeguarding the stability of global supply chains. The Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) announced on November 9, 2025, that upon approval, the second clause of the original notice on enhancing export controls on specific dual-use items to the US would be suspended until November 27. This adjustment is seen as consistent with China’s long-standing approach, aimed at ensuring the security and stability of global key minerals’ industries and supply chains. Chinese experts noted that the action creates further opportunities to strengthen business ties between the two sides for win-win outcomes.
