Tomorrow and the day after, EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos will be in Armenia to further strengthen cooperation between the EU and Armenia and advance regional connectivity.
Tomorrow in Yerevan, the Commissioner will meet with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The main topics of discussion will be preparations for the upcoming EU–Armenia Summit, as well as strengthening transport, digital, energy, and trade links under the EU Connectivity Agenda. The parties will also exchange views on the regional situation and Armenia’s democratic resilience.
Commissioner Kos will also meet with Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan to discuss progress in implementing the EU’s €270 million Resilience and Growth Plan for Armenia. A joint press conference will follow, to be livestreamed on EBS+ at approximately 16:30 CET. In addition, Kos will meet with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan to exchange views on recent developments in the region.
The day after tomorrow, in Gyumri, Kos will visit EU-funded enterprises that support social integration, local economic development, and job creation. In 2024 alone, EU programs supported more than 7,000 Armenian businesses, creating over 20,000 jobs.
