France and Hungary have decided to begin preparations for the renewal of the strategic partnership between the two countries.

According to Report, French President Emmanuel Macron wrote about this on social media platform X following a meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar.

It is worth noting that this was the first time Macron had received Magyar at the Élysée Palace in his capacity as Hungarian Prime Minister.

“A new era is dawning in Hungary, but also for Hungary in Europe! Today we have decided to begin preparations for a new strategic partnership between Hungary and France, which is due to be signed before the end of the year.

It will enable us to deepen our relations in strategic sectors such as defence, nuclear energy, infrastructure, transport and even agriculture.

It will also help advance our agenda for a European sovereignty capable of acting in the interests of its own security and defence, strengthening its competitiveness and protecting its democracy,” the publication states.
