According to him, a joint working group between the Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade and the Tajik Ministry of Industry will be set up to develop cooperation in the mining sector between Iran and Tajikistan.

Samiinejad noted that Iranian companies are interested in actively participating in Tajikistan’s mining industry market.

The head of the organisation said that the working group being set up will focus on cooperation in several areas. The working group will prepare a roadmap and will inform the relevant ministers on a monthly basis about the progress of its activities.

‘According to the plan, large Iranian industrial and mining companies will also participate in the cooperation between the two countries. The exchange of products in the mining industry will be carried out through service centres that will be established in Tajikistan. Thus, Iranian products will be brought to the Tajik market,’ he said.

It should be noted that on 18 February, Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, Seyed Mohammad Atabek, visited Tajikistan accompanied by a high-level delegation. It is reported that during the visit, the main focus was on the development of economic ties between the two countries.
