In a telephone conversation on May 3, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed topical issues of further development and strengthening of comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance relations between the two countries.

They also discussed the results of the implementation of agreements reached during Putin’s official visit to Uzbekistan in May last year. The sides emphasized the importance of maintaining the volume of trade between the two countries, accelerating joint projects in priority economic sectors and continuing regional cooperation and dialogue between business circles. In this regard, the successful results of business events within the framework of the fifth international industrial exhibition “INNOPROM. Central Asia” held in Tashkent were highly appreciated. They also noted with satisfaction the growing humanitarian cooperation between the two countries in such areas as culture, art, science, education, sports and tourism.
