Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro described the U.S. naval deployment in the Caribbean as an act of aggression rather than mere tension. He stated that the U.S. had stationed eight warships, 1,200 missiles, and a nuclear submarine near Venezuela, targeting its peaceful people. Maduro emphasized that the Venezuelan people and the Bolivarian National Armed Forces would defend the nation’s territorial integrity and peace. He also welcomed CELAC’s statement expressing serious concern over U.S. actions, which undermine the Caribbean’s declared “Zone of Peace.”
