The Naftogaz Group has signed a memorandum with MOL Group regarding the construction of a terminal for the storage of petroleum products for Ukraine’s needs in Hungary, near the border between the two countries.
According to Report, citing Ukrainian media, this was announced by Sergey Fedorenko, acting chairman of the board of Naftogaz of Ukraine, on his Facebook account.
“Amid ongoing Russian attacks on energy infrastructure, diversifying supply routes and creating additional storage capacity outside the combat zone is a matter of stability for the entire market,” he noted following the Carpathian Economic Forum, held as part of the C8 Summit in Kyiv.
Fedorenko noted that this additional storage capacity for petroleum products would not only enhance the reliability of energy supplies to Ukrainian consumers but would also contribute to the mutually beneficial development of cross-border energy infrastructure between Ukraine and Hungary.
