In Beijing, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Chinese President Xi Jinping held high-level talks, resulting in the signing of a wide range of bilateral agreements.
Key documents include a cooperation program aligning Uzbekistan’s “Uzbekistan-2030 Strategy” with China’s “Belt and Road Initiative,” an agreement on establishing cultural centers, and another on cooperation in healthcare services. Additional agreements cover diverse fields: the second stage of a dredger supply project for Uzbekistan, technical and economic cooperation, conformity assessment, phytosanitary standards for exporting Uzbek melons and almonds to China, peaceful use of space technologies, cooperation in competition policy, human resource development, and digital economy. Institutional and regional partnerships were also established — Samarkand region signed a partnership with the Chinese city of Tianjin, and the Uzbek Chamber of Commerce and Industry concluded a cooperation deal with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.
