Kazakh and Azerbaijani experts briefed the presidents on their work to develop the Middle Corridor. Assel Zhanassova, Advisor to the President of Kazakhstan, presented a plan to enhance this strategic transport and logistics route connecting China and Central Asia to Europe.

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev noted that the main driver of the Middle Corridor’s growth is the increasing volume of shipments from China to Azerbaijan. Currently, the transit of goods from the Chinese border to ports in Georgia takes between 15 and 18 days. According to projections, cargo flow along this route could triple by 2030.

During the presentation, the presidents were informed about concrete measures and initiatives aimed at increasing the efficiency and competitiveness of the Middle Corridor and strengthening its transit role in the Eurasian region.
