Putin: “Russia can retain its sovereignty, statehood through national unity” 

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that “unity means preserving Russia’s sovereignty and statehood” during a state decoration ceremony on National Unity Day. Putin remarked that the holiday has a special significance, noting, “The very notion of unity implies the preservation of our country, our sovereignty and our statehood. This is the core meaning of what is going on today.” He also thanked those present at the ceremony for their activities and efforts in preserving Russia’s statehood.
