The 18th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between the two countries will be held in Moscow from April 22-26, Russian Energy Minister Sergey Tsivilyov announced after a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali.
“We have agreed that this year the intergovernmental commission will be held in Moscow on April 22-26. The meeting will discuss the development of economic cooperation as well as other aspects of bilateral relations,” Tsivilyov told Iranian state television and radio. During the meeting, Tsivilyov and Jalali also held a telephone conversation with the Chairman of the Iranian side of the Russian-Iranian Permanent Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation and Minister of Petroleum Mohsen Paknejad. Speaking at a reception to mark the 46th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in Iran on February 10, the Russian energy minister said he expected to reach new agreements on both current and future projects at the next meeting of the intergovernmental commission. The two countries continue to deepen cooperation in strategic areas such as energy, trade and transportation.
