Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov stated that in addition to the “Oreshnik” missile, Russia possesses other advanced weapons and has not wasted time in developing them. He avoided revealing potential deployment locations, saying, “We have many options and exclude nothing.” In November 2024, President Putin announced that the US and NATO had approved the use of long-range precision weapons, after which Russian regions of Kursk and Bryansk were hit by American and British missiles. In response, Russia launched a non-nuclear strike with its “Oreshnik” intermediate-range ballistic missile against Ukraine’s Yuzhmash defense plant. Putin warned the West that escalating policies could lead to serious consequences.
