Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Đurić, speaking at a meeting in Subotica, Serbia, with his Croatian counterpart Gordan Grlić-Radman, emphasised the need to refrain from politicising outstanding issues between the two countries.
According to Report’s Balkan bureau, the Serbian minister also advocated focusing on concrete results through institutional and bilateral mechanisms.
The meeting covered bilateral relations, the situation in the Western Balkans, and other issues of mutual interest.
Đurić emphasised that relations with neighbouring Croatia, as well as ties with all other neighbours, are of great importance to Serbia. He noted that Belgrade is keen to further develop these relations through open and substantive dialogue.
The Minister noted that some outstanding issues are serious and complex in nature; however, taking into account shared needs and interests, it is possible to adopt a constructive approach and find solutions acceptable to both sides.
The interlocutors also discussed the importance of holding a further meeting of national coordinators on outstanding issues. Đurić described the meeting of national coordinators held in October 2024 as an important and positive step.
