The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has held discussions with Japan’s Itochu Corporation regarding the exploration and development of oil fields, renewable energy projects, and the implementation of advanced technological innovations in the industry, Report informs.
The discussions took place during a meeting between SOCAR’s president Rovshan Najaf and the Chairman of the Japan-Azerbaijan Economic Committee and Director of ITOCHU ENEX CO.,LTD., Tetsuya Yamada.
As part of the meeting, the parties highlighted the establishment of effective relations between SOCAR and Itochu Corporation over the past years. They also expressed satisfaction with successful partnership in regional and global energy projects initiated by Azerbaijan in this regard, as well as in the petrochemical field.
During the conversation, preparation issues for the next meeting of the State Commission on Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Japan were discussed, and an exchange of views was held on expanding cooperation in various areas of the energy sector and other matters of mutual interest.
