As of 1 June 2026, there were 19,921 foreign-invested enterprises operating in Uzbekistan. This is according to data published by the Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
“There are 19,921 enterprises with foreign investment operating in Uzbekistan. Compared with the same period last year, their number has increased by 3,870,” the committee noted.
Of the total, 4,500 are joint ventures, whilst 15,421 are wholly owned by foreign investors.
China remains the leader in terms of the number of active enterprises with foreign participation – there are 5,821 companies with Chinese capital operating in the country. It is followed by Russia (3,349 enterprises) and Turkey (2,237).
Kazakhstan ranks fourth with 1,283 enterprises. It is followed by South Korea (721) and Afghanistan (673).
Other major sources of foreign investment include Azerbaijan (460 enterprises), Tajikistan (442), the United Arab Emirates (433) and India (413).
The statistics demonstrate Uzbekistan’s continued appeal to foreign investors against the backdrop of the government’s economic reforms, trade liberalisation and measures to improve the business climate.
