Trump’s Roadmap for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) opens up further opportunities for trade development in Kazakhstan.
This was stated by Yerzhan Kazykhan, the Kazakh President’s representative for negotiations with the US, during the seventh annual Caspian Business Forum organised by the Caspian Policy Centre (CPC) in New York.
According to him, Kazakhstan attaches strategic importance to the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (the Middle Corridor), and TRIPP could create further opportunities for connecting Central Asia with European markets.
He noted that for Kazakhstan, this is not merely a transport route, but an investment in the future and a platform for developing transport links with the South Caucasus, Turkey and Europe.
“Kazakhstan regards TRIPP as a logical extension of the Middle Corridor. For us, TRIPP shortens the route to European markets by 1,000 kilometres… and helps to bridge gaps in transport connectivity in the South Caucasus, creating further opportunities for trade,” he said.
Kazykhan added that the next phase of development should focus on three priorities: connecting infrastructure along the entire route, improving cross-border transport, and mobilising long-term investment.
He also emphasised the importance of closer coordination between countries to ensure that infrastructure projects function as part of a single regional network.
