The Presidents of the United States and the Republic of Korea, Donald Trump and Lee Jae-myung, discussed the outcome of the US leader’s visit to China during a telephone conversation.
According to Report, this was announced by the South Korean president’s office.
“President Trump spoke about the outcome of the US-China summit, which covered topics such as bilateral relations between the US and China, trade and economic agreements, and the situation on the Korean Peninsula and in the Strait of Hormuz,” the office stated. Lee Jae-myung, for his part, welcomed the “constructive discussions held by President Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping on the issue of the Korean Peninsula”.
The US leader pledged to contribute to ensuring peace and stability on the peninsula. The US and the Republic of Korea also discussed the bilateral agreements contained in the fact sheet following the Gyeongju summit. Lee Jae-myung praised “Trump’s active leadership in efforts to resolve the situation in the Middle East”. The conversation lasted about 30 minutes.
Trump was on a visit to China from 13 to 15 May.
