Ukraine and Hungary are working on preparations for a possible meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Mádly.

According to Report, this was announced by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga at a press conference in Vinnytsia following talks with his Slovak counterpart Juraj Blanár.

He said the two sides are continuing diplomatic contacts to agree on the format and date of the summit.

“I can confirm that we are working on a meeting between the leaders – President Zelenskyy and Prime Minister Mádor. This meeting will definitely take place,” Sibiga noted.

The minister also reported on further contacts with the Hungarian side, including engagement with the Hungarian Foreign Minister.

It should be recalled that earlier, Péter Mályi, who at that time had not yet assumed the post of Prime Minister, proposed holding a meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy in early June in the town of Berehove.

At the same time, the Office of the President of Ukraine noted that the Head of State’s schedule for June had not yet been finalised, and that such meetings require bilateral agreement.
