Trump: If import tariffs are lifted, the US will become a third-world country

U.S. President Donald Trump warned that eliminating customs tariffs could turn the country into a “third world nation.” According to him, tariffs bring more than $15 trillion in investments into the American economy, which would be immediately wiped out if the courts overturned them. Trump stressed that without tariffs, the U.S. would lose its hope of becoming a great power again. In another post, he highlighted that prices, including for energy, are falling and that inflation is nearly nonexistent. He emphasized that this progress is happening despite tariffs, which generate trillions of dollars from countries that, in his words, “exploited the U.S. for decades.”
