The meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff lasted three hours. The meeting was announced by Kremlin advisor Yuri Ushakov.
The meeting in Moscow was held in a constructive atmosphere, Ushakov said, adding that Putin and Witkoff directly discussed various issues, including the possibility of resuming Russia-Ukraine negotiations. “The negotiations between Putin and Witkoff contributed to the convergence of the positions of Russia and the United States not only on the Ukrainian issue, but also on many other issues,” Ushakov said, adding that the fact that the meeting coincided with the anniversary of the Elbe River meeting also had a symbolic meaning.
