Turkic states to create unified digital database of archaeological heritage

The third meeting of the Association of Research Institutes and Archaeology Centers of the Turkic World (ARICA) was held in Bugac, Hungary.

According to the Kazakhstan bureau of Report, citing the Turkic Academy, the meeting focused on moving cooperation into a practical phase and preparing joint international projects in archaeology and the preservation of historical heritage.

Participants agreed to establish a unified digital database of archaeological heritage. The new program will include joint expeditions and excavations, including at sites along the Great Silk Road and early Turkic monuments.

An Electronic Atlas of Archaeological Sites of the Turkic States will also be created, containing information on their locations, history, research findings and academic publications.

Following the meeting, participants adopted a resolution on moving toward the practical implementation of joint archaeological projects and creating a unified digital scientific space for the Turkic world.
