The Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Armenia have completed negotiations on an Agreement for Cooperation Concerning Peaceful Uses of Nuclear Energy (“123 Agreement”). This is noted in a joint statement released Tuesday by the US Embassy in Armenia.
“The completion of these negotiations represents a critical step toward fulfilling the goal of deepening bilateral civil nuclear cooperation as a key pillar of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Armenia regarding an Energy Security Partnership, signed at Washington D.C. on August 8, 2025,” the statement adds.
“This 123 Agreement will enhance bilateral cooperation on energy security, strengthen longstanding diplomatic and economic relationships between the two countries, and provide a comprehensive legal framework for nuclear energy cooperation,” the statement adds.
