Uzbekistan and Hong Kong discuss new investment projects

As part of the visit to Uzbekistan by a delegation led by Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee, Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade held a business briefing and a round-table discussion attended by representatives of the Hong Kong business community, Trend reports. The events were attended by Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khojaev and Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Ilzat Kasimov.

More than 120 representatives of major Hong Kong companies operating in the fields of industry, finance, logistics, information technology and construction also took part in the discussions. The Uzbek side briefed participants on the economic reforms being implemented in the country, investment opportunities and state support measures for business.

It was emphasised that Uzbekistan is consistently fostering a favourable investment climate and expanding the prospects for international cooperation. During the roundtable, the parties discussed opportunities for expanding trade and economic cooperation, strengthening financial ties and implementing joint investment projects.

Following the meeting, the participants reaffirmed their mutual interest in further developing investment and strengthening a long-term, mutually beneficial partnership.
