Uzbekistan and India discussed expanding cooperation in the areas of trade, investment and political dialogue as part of efforts to further develop the multifaceted strategic partnership between the two countries.
This was stated in a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan following a meeting between Uzbekistan’s First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhromjon Aloev, and India’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Smita Pant. The parties reviewed the current state of bilateral relations and identified priority areas for further cooperation in key sectors.
During the talks, the main focus was on strengthening political dialogue, expanding trade and investment cooperation, developing cultural and humanitarian ties, and coordinating positions on issues on the international agenda of mutual interest.
“The parties discussed the current state and prospects for the further development of the multifaceted partnership between Uzbekistan and India,” the ministry’s statement said.
In addition, the participants exchanged views on ways to intensify political dialogue and promote practical cooperation across a wide range of priority areas.
