On 25 September, Jamshid Kuchkarov, Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan and Minister of Economy and Finance, held a meeting with a delegation from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) led by Takeo Koike, Head of the Office of Market Development and Public-Private Partnerships. This was reported by the Information Service and Communications Department of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of public-private partnership (PPP) projects in Uzbekistan, measures to accelerate their implementation, and opportunities to expand cooperation into new areas.
Particular attention was paid to projects in the field of education, including the expansion of the network of pre-school institutions across the country’s regions. The participants also considered the prospects for developing projects in healthcare, the construction of water supply and wastewater treatment facilities, and the modernisation of district heating systems.
Separately, the parties discussed the prospects for implementing public-private partnership (PPP) agreements concluded between Uzbekistan and the ADB in various sectors.
In addition, the possibility of engaging the ADB’s expert and advisory support to accelerate projects aimed at modernising district heating systems using contemporary approaches was considered.
