On January 23, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Laziz Kudratov held talks with the Director General of the Saudi Development Fund Sultan al-Marshad, Trend reports.
According to the information, the meeting discussed the current state and prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation.
The parties noted that during the cooperation, the Fund has financed a number of projects in Uzbekistan in the fields of healthcare, education, water supply and irrigation, housing construction, and transport infrastructure development.
It is reported that the portfolio of joint initiatives currently includes 11 projects totaling $287.4 million. In addition, two priority projects are being developed: the construction of affordable housing in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the reconstruction of damaged bridges on the country’s highways, with a total cost of $138 million.
Following the meeting, mutual interest was confirmed in further strengthening the partnership, implementing socially significant projects, and expanding cooperation in priority areas, taking into account the strategic development goals of Uzbekistan.
