Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has held his first telephone conversation with the new British Prime Minister, Andy Burnham.

According to Report, the Ukrainian leader announced this on his social media page.

“I was pleased to speak with Andy Burnham and congratulate him on taking office as Prime Minister of the UK. I greatly appreciate that support for Ukraine and our people will continue to grow. Ukraine and the UK have managed to build the strongest partnership in the history of our bilateral relations, and we will certainly continue to work to ensure that it only grows,” Zelenskyy noted.

He emphasised that the two sides had agreed to discuss further cooperation, in particular joint work within the framework of the new European Anti-Ballistic Missile Coalition, during a meeting to be held “in the very near future”.
