As part of his visit to Ireland, Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with the country’s Prime Minister, Micheál Martin, and the President of the European Council, António Costa.

According to Report, he wrote about this on his Telegram channel.

“Together with António Costa and Micheál Martin, we coordinated the priorities of Ukraine’s agenda for the duration of Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union. First and foremost, we discussed the practical steps needed to advance Ukraine’s path to full EU membership as swiftly as possible. We also coordinated our positions on further support for Ukraine and on stepping up sanctions pressure on Russia,” he wrote.

Zelenskyy also expressed hope that, during Ireland’s presidency of the Council of the EU, Ukraine would be able to make tangible progress towards membership and open all negotiation clusters.

Zelenskyy and Martin also discussed prospects for strengthening and expanding bilateral cooperation, in particular within the framework of the ‘Drone Deal’ (a deal on unmanned aerial vehicles – ed.).
