An additional anti-aircraft regiment, equipped with anti-drone systems, is to be formed in southern Poland.
According to Report, the country’s Minister of National Defence, Vladislav Kosiniak-Kamysz, wrote about this on the social media platform X.
He clarified that this involves the formation of the 87th Anti-Aircraft Regiment, which will be stationed in Bielsko. The regiment will consist of approximately 1,000 military personnel and will be equipped with anti-missile, anti-aircraft and anti-drone defence systems.
“This morning I signed a decision on the formation of the 87th Anti-Aircraft Regiment; the 87th Anti-Aircraft Regiment will be based in Brzesko,” the Polish minister noted.
Kosiniak-Kamysz did not specify the exact types of weaponry with which the additional anti-aircraft regiment will be equipped.
