Armenia and the Czech Republic Discuss Cooperation in the Field of Environment

Armenian Minister of Environment Hambardzum Matevosyan met with the Czech Ambassador to Armenia, Petr Pirunčík, to discuss bilateral cooperation in the environmental sphere. The parties reviewed the progress of the EU-supported two-year Twinning project titled “Strengthening the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Biodiversity.” The program aims to enhance alignment with EU standards in areas such as biodiversity conservation and the management of protected areas. The meeting also addressed preparations for the upcoming COP17 Convention on Biological Diversity and the involvement of civil society in the process. Ambassador Pirunčík reaffirmed the Czech Republic’s continued commitment to supporting environmental reforms in Armenia.
