Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Stephen Doughty, the UK Minister of State for Europe, North America and Overseas Territories, held a telephone conversation on April 29.
According to the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, bilateral and regional cooperation between the two countries, regional and international security issues were discussed. During the conversation, Ceyhun Bayramov spoke about the current situation in the region in the post-conflict period, the danger of mines and developments in the process of normalization of relations with Armenia. Sharing the progress made in the peace treaty negotiations initiated by Azerbaijan and the obstacles to the successful completion of the process, Bayramov emphasized that Armenia’s abandonment of its territorial claims against Azerbaijan, which are enshrined in its constitution and other legal acts, is of great importance for the establishment of lasting peace in the South Caucasus. During the telephone conversation, the sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
